The ABC Country Hour reported on the event. Here is what they wrote:
'Fruit and vegetable producers are being challenged to join with government and retailers to present a consistent healthy message.
A fresh market forum in Launceston, Tasmania (Australia) yesterday urged Tasmanian producers to link up and smarten how they grow, pack, transport and promote fresh produce, if they want to increase sales.
Consultant, Dr Hazel MacTavish-West, said reversing the sales stagnation requires new products and promoting the benefits of those products.
"If the fruit and veg growers don't wake up and smell the roses that they have to catch up and do this with their produce too, the decline in fruit and veg consumption will continue to happen," she says.
"And it can't continue to happen because the health of people it all comes back to eating products from plants, fruit and veg and nuts."
