Title: What your fragrance says about you. MacTavish:West identify your perfect perfume
The problem: A freelance journalist wanted an interesting story about perfume, linked with celebrity. She asked MacTavish:West if we could assess celebrity perfumes ‘blind’ and describe them and what it said about the person who wore them.
The problem: A freelance journalist wanted an interesting story about perfume, linked with celebrity. She asked MacTavish:West if we could assess celebrity perfumes ‘blind’ and describe them and what it said about the person who wore them.
The solution: MacTavish:West and another perfumer assessed 10 different celebrity perfumes including White Diamonds (Liz Taylor), Paris Hilton (Paris Hilton), Lovely (Sarah Jessica Parker), Devil Woman (Cliff Richard), Live (Jennifer Lopez) and Fantasy (Brtiney Spears) among others. We talked about what the construction of the fragrance, and the image it conveyed. We were all impressed by how close some of the descriptions were!
The result: An interesting article appeared in the Daily Express on Saturday May 27, 2006 entitled ‘The Stars Who Smell of Success’.
