Title: Unique scratch and sniff labels for scented flowers in-store
The problem: The UK’s largest producer and importer of scented cut flowers wanted a unique recreation of the fragrance of their new variety, and a ‘Scratch and Sniff’ label to use in pull-out promotions in magazines and on the sleeve of the bouquet.
The problem: The UK’s largest producer and importer of scented cut flowers wanted a unique recreation of the fragrance of their new variety, and a ‘Scratch and Sniff’ label to use in pull-out promotions in magazines and on the sleeve of the bouquet.
The solution: MacTavish:West teamed up with perfumers and scientists to assess the fragrance of the fresh flower, and to provide a brief for perfumery houses across Europe. A large number of synthetic recreations of the flower’s perfume were submitted, and one stood out from the rest as being closest to the real thing. We made recommendations to improve the fragrance, and identified a company who could turn a bottle of unique perfume into a print varnish for printing onto labels and brochures/fliers. After 6 or 7 attempts we all agreed the fragrance in the final printed labels was perfect, and we are now working on the second variety.
The result: Watch (smell?) this space for the launch of the new scented label, Mother’s Day 2010.
